The site is a free beginner library about closed terrariums. It is not a shop, not a course with a certificate, and not professional horticultural advice.
Using the library
You may read the pages for your own jars, save a link, and print a page for personal use. Please do not copy the library wholesale, scrape it, or republish the guides as if they were yours.
Plant names, mixes and methods are offered in good faith for UK home conditions. Your room, your tap water and your lid will differ. Read the Disclaimer as well.
Accounts and the editor
There is no public account. The admin desk is private. If you have access to it, keep the password to yourself and sign out on a shared computer.
Your messages
If you email us, you are responsible for what you send. Do not send us anyone else’s private details unless they asked you to. See the Privacy notice for how we handle mail.
Our content
Words, arrangement, and original photographs or clips on this site belong to Under Glass or to the people credited next to them. Unsplash and other stock or museum images remain under their own licences — the credit line is the map.
You may quote a short passage with a link back. You may not lift a whole guide, our first-jar path, or our symptom tables into another commercial site.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break the site, overload it, scrape it aggressively, or use it to send spam. Do not upload unlawful material through any form we might add later.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is. Pages can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. We do not promise that a plant will live, that mould will stay away, or that the site will be up every hour of every day.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for jars that fail, plants that rot, or time you spend following a guide. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Third-party sites
Links out (for example a photographer’s page) are not under our control. Their terms apply when you leave.
Changes
We may change these terms by updating this page. The date at the top is the cue.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that you may also bring a claim in your own UK living place if the law says so.
